Competition rules
Members please read the following rules for competition
entries as they will be strictly enforced in the forthcoming
season. |

Projected Images and Prints |

| 1. All images/prints
(including all elements of the image/print) must be members own
original work and for all competitions must be no more than 3
years old at the start of the club season. |
| 2. An image/print may be
entered in only one monthly competition but may be entered again
in the Image/Print of the Year competition. |
| 3. Members may enter up to 3
prints and 3 projected images for each competition. |
| 4. Digitally projected images
must be presented as JPEGs with a maximum resolution of up to
1024 pixels wide and up to a maximum of 768 pixels high. |
| 5. Prints must be mounted and
should be no less 17.5cm x 12.5 cm (7x5 ins) photo size, and no
greater than 50cm x 40cm (20x16 ins) mount size. |
| 6. Projected images and prints
must be titled and suffixed with the photographers membership
number in the following format imagetitle_membersnumber . |
| 7. Digital images may be
entered by e-mail, USB flash drive, memory card or on disc
(although the preferred option will be by e-mail). The deadline
for emailed images will be up to midnight on the Tuesday of the
week in which entries are due. The deadline for images entered
by other means will be on the Thursday evening of the week in
which they are due as set out in the syllabus. No late entries
will be accepted. |
| 8. Work that does not comply
with the rules set out above will be disqualified from the
competition in which they were entered. |

Sequence
Competitions |
| |
| 1.
All audio
visual sequences are limited to a maximum of 7 minutes in
duration (inclusive of all title images). |
| 2.
There
is no limit on the number of images that may be included in the
sequence subject to 9 above |
| 3.
Audio
visual sequences must not include any video content. |
| 4.
Print
sequences of a maximum of 6 images on a board not exceeding 60cm
x 90cm (2 x 3 ft) may also be entered and will be judged as a
separate category from AV sequences. |
| 5.
Members may submit up to 3 entries in each category.

| 6.
Entries may be submitted on USB flash drive, memory card or on
disc. |
| 7.
Work
that does not comply with the rules set out above will be
disqualified from the sequence competition. |
| |

|
Novice
Competition |
|
|
The aim of the Novice
Competition is to develop the skills of members by encouraging
participation in Club Monthly Competitions being marked as a
separate group.
It is for members who have less than two full years of
competitive participation with the Hawick Camera Club or any
other Photographic organisation.
Entry should be identified by adding the letter N beside
member's allocated PIN.
A trophy will be awarded to the "Novice" member who obtains the
highest accumulated score in the projected image section of the
HCC's annual points league.
The "Novice" status of members may be subject to review and
possible amendment by the HCC Committee at their sole
discretion. |
